My experience with Action Automotive began with a call to AAA who sent an Action tow-tuck out to the rest-stop on the Thru-Way where we had a catastrophic failure: Tie-rod, ball joint, axle and wheel for that matter. Anyhow, 'Andrew' made it to our location in less than 30 minutes. He surveyed the situation, got the car up onto the truck and drove my daughter and I into Henrietta where the shop is located. I am not from New York, the car was packed with stuff that was in my daughter's dorm room that we had not been able to get to since March and I had a major repair decision to make. After talking it through, high-level, with Andrew, I felt very comfortable about leaving the car with Action to be diagnosed. We arrived on a Saturday late afternoon, meaning the shop was closed for the weekend:( Andrew got the car to the Action lot, and then he drove my daughter and i to a hotel about a mile away. It was unexpected, and honestly one of the kindest acts that I have experienced in a long time! Andrew, you will never know how truly thankful we are!!! So, the story continues: That Saturday night, Rochester like so many other cities, erupted in protests. My daughter and I now in an unfamiliar city, with no car and no idea if we will have an operable vehicle to get home in before Monday. On that Monday, I spoke to Tom in the Service Department. He let me know that they would review the repairs needed and get back to me as soon as possible. It was a nerve wrecking morning awaiting the return call, but the call did come! The estimated costs came in below what I had anticipated, and I was relieved that the vehicle could actually be repaired. There was one minor issue, the tie-rod had put roughly a baseball sized whole through the actual wheel. Long story short, a used wheel for a 2005 Pilot was not something simply laying around in local scrap yards. Tom made several calls to find and source the part. He ended up ordering it from two suppliers in hopes that he could get it within 2-3days. Yes, we now had to stay in the hotel for another several days. Again because of Tom's efforts this time, a wheel was procured by Wednesday. The vehicle was actually put together and test driven by end of day Wednesday. One issue remained, the ABS light was on and the anti-lock braking system was not working. Tom walked me through the diagnosis, and we decided that the best option was to get the needed sensor so that the brakes would work correctly. By Thursday morning, all repairs were successfully made. We did leave with a known issue in regards to the VSA warning light and system, but decided that this would not prevent us from driving home. My daughter and I did make it safely home to Chicago by Thursday night:) I want to sincerely thank Andrew, Angel and Tom for their kindness, care and above and beyond actions! I could have had the vehicle dropped at the local Honda dealership or any number of other repair shops in the Rochester area. Fortunately, I felt incredibly comfortable and sure about the decision to stay with Action. It was indeed the best choice! The repairs were done well, in a timely fashion and the service provided was incredibly polite and professional. Folks in Rochester, this is definitely one of your local gem service providers. I did check on Angie's List, Google, etc. Their ratings are solid and high. Meaning, this is not only based on my opinion. In short, consider Action Automotive first!
